Clarity in a time of CHAOS
OK so how did it go? A day in 'lockdown' for many of us.
Honestly, how was yesterday? How was having your usual routine swiped out from under you?
Because most of us woke up with a strange lack of focus and structure.
Rightly so, the majority of the UK is running on a state of high stress, anxiety and uncertainty right now.
And this physical state is what will hold us down for longer.
The longer we're down, the unhealthier we become.
So it's imperative to claw back some STRUCTURE to your day.
When you have 'things' to do then your mind is focused on that and not on the 1000 and 1 other thoughts racking your brain.
And this starts with a VERY simple task that revolves around sleep.
Firstly make sure you aim for over 7 hours sleep.
It is vitally important to sleep well for body regeneration and a healthy immune system.
Ever woke up from a short or poor nights sleep and struggled to get going?
Or perhaps felt so groggy and sluggish you feel 20 years older?
Set a 'Go to bed alarm' that is minimum 7.5 hours from your wake up alarm.
That way you allow yourself a half hour to get ready for bed.
The set a Wake up alarm and when it goes off in the morning - don't snooze it!
On wake up have a clear idea of what you are going to do first thing.
Whether it is jump straight in the shower, eat breakfast, sit and have a coffee or hit some exercise...
Just know WHAT it will be and get straight to it.
Do that ^ ^ ^ and your mornings will begin to start with purpose.
You will get more done in your days and begin to feel some degree of structure come back.
I'm not saying it'll be all sunshine and rainbows but it's a heck of a lot better than waking up and slogging through the morning feeling low.
